Discover Schiedam from the water

You can experience a totally different side to Schiedam from the water. Take a trip on a fluisterboot (silent boat) and admire the monumental warehouses to be found along the water’s edge, enjoy the stories of the numerous buildings and learn more about the city’s history.
 

A trip on a silent boat takes you on an hour-long journey past the cities ports, warehouses, distilleries and windmills. Sailing season runs from april 13  throug October 27. The silent boat sails from Tuesday till Sunday at 12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm. The start and ending points are at the Windmill Museum De Nieuwe Palmboom (The New Palm Tree), Noordvest 34, Schiedam.

You can reserve tickets at Stichting Promotie Schiedam (Promoting Schiedam Foundation) on the Buitenhavenweg 9 (010-4733000) and at the Windmill Museum De Nieuwe Palmboom (010-4267675). You can pick up the tickets at the Windmill Museum up to an hour before the boat departs. Tickets for groups of more than 10 people can be reserved at the Stichting Promotie Schiedam (010-4262654).

Hiring a fluisterboot (silent boat)
