Schiedam Waterjaar (Water Year) 2010

Schiedam is an historical city on water. Water plays an important role in the city’s history, as it does in its present and will do in its future. It is for this reason that ‘water’ is central to the theme year in 2010.

During Water Year 2010 many great water events will take place, such as Scyedam Vaert, ‘t Maasboulevardfeest (party on the Maas boulevard) and the Gondelvaart (gondola tour). Music and drama activities will also be organised around the ports of Schiedam, there will be exhibitions held in the water theme and there will be attention for the maritime industry. After all, many maritime companies of world stature are situated in Schiedam. New tourist water arrangements will be launched in 2010 and Schiedam is proud to present these at water fairs.
